Perimenopause is the transitional phase leading up to menopause, marked by hormonal fluctuations and menstrual irregularities, which can start as early as 35 and last to 52.

Typically lasts 2-8 years, ending 12 months after the final menstrual period

Commonly begins in women’s 40s but can start earlier and later

There is no test for Perimenopause, it can be diagnosed based on symptoms, menstrual history and looking at how your mum felt when she was going through it
